Mouse Cystine/glutamate transporter (Slc7a11) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of mouse cystine/glutamate transporter (Slc7a11) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific to mouse samples, making it suitable for cell biology research where SLC7A11 (also known as xCT, amino acid transport system xc-, or solute carrier family 7 member 11) is studied for its role in cystine/glutamate exchange, antioxidant defense and amino acid metabolism. Dysregulation of SLC7A11 has been linked to cancer, neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic conditions.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.5% and inter-assay CV is 8.2%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery averaging 86% (range 80-92%) for serum and 88% (range 82-94%) for plasma. The kit detects natural and recombinant mouse cystine/glutamate transporter, a protein that functions as a sodium-independent, high-affinity exchanger of anionic amino acids with high specificity for the anionic forms of cystine and glutamate, and which forms a disulfide-linked heterodimer with the amino acid transport protein SLC3A2/4F2hc.
