Mouse Cystatin-B (Cstb) ELISA Kit

The assay detects natural and recombinant mouse cystatin B. The reported detection range is 0.156-10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is 5.4% and inter-assay precision is 8.6%. Recovery averages 106% in serum (range 100-112%) and 108% in plasma (range 102-114%).

Cystatin B (synonyms Stefin-B, Cst6, Stfb; UniProt Q62426) is an intracellular thiol proteinase inhibitor localised to the cytoplasm. The protein is widely expressed, with the highest levels in heart, liver and kidney, lower levels in brain, lung and skeletal muscle, and lowest levels in spleen and testis. Dysregulation of cystatin B has been associated with neurodegenerative disorders and certain cancers, making the kit relevant to research areas including epigenetics. The assay is supplied as a solid-phase ELISA; components are stored at -20°C or 2-8°C as indicated, and the kit is shipped on cold pack at +4°C.
