The Assay Genie Mouse Cytoglobin ELISA kit provides researchers with a quantitative tool for measuring CYGB protein levels across murine experimental systems. Cytoglobin is a hexacoordinate heme protein expressed broadly in mouse tissues, where it contributes to cellular oxygen handling, nitric oxide metabolism, and the cellular response to oxidative stress. Investigators studying fibrosis, hepatic stellate cell activation, pulmonary remodeling, or tumor biology routinely monitor CYGB abundance in rodent models to evaluate how disease states, genetic backgrounds, or pharmacological interventions shift globin expression over time.

Mouse cytoglobin has been described in the published literature as a protective factor against liver fibrosis and as a stress-responsive globin that supports cell survival under hypoxic or fibrotic challenge. The kit accordingly serves workup of candidate antifibrotic compounds, knockout and transgenic mouse phenotyping, and longitudinal tracking of CYGB in tissues such as liver, lung, kidney, and brain. It also complements panels measuring collagen deposition, alpha-smooth muscle actin, or other markers of tissue injury commonly assessed alongside globin expression.

The kit is configured for 96 assays and contains the reagents needed to perform quantitative ELISA measurements on mouse-derived samples for research use only. Laboratory workflows can incorporate serum, tissue homogenates, or cell lysates, allowing side-by-side evaluation of CYGB across multiple organs or treatment groups within a single experimental cohort.
