Description

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse cyclin-dependent kinase 4 inhibitor C (CDKN2C) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids [S1]. CDKN2C is described as a critical regulator of cell cycle progression, functioning as a key inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4), and the protein interacts strongly with CDK6 and weakly with CDK4, inhibiting cell growth and proliferation with a correlated dependence on endogenous retinoblastoma protein RB [S1].

The assay shows reactivity with mouse samples and is intended for research use only, with cancer identified as the research area [S1]. Detection is reported as colorimetric [C0] using an ELISA format [S1], and the kit has a stated detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 40.5pg/mL [S1]. Specificity is given for natural and recombinant mouse CDKN2C, which is also known by the synonyms cyclin-dependent kinase 6 inhibitor, p18-INK4c, and p18-INK6 [S1]. The protein is a heterodimer of p18 with CDK6, with a molecular weight of 18,066 Da and UniProt accession Q60772 [S1].

Storage requirements vary by component, with lyophilized standard and detection reagents kept at -20°C and the wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution stored at 4°C [S1]. Reagents should be allowed to reach room temperature before use, and the optical density is read on a microplate reader set to 450 nm [S1].
