Description

Designed for the precise quantification of corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) in mouse serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants, this competitive ELISA from Assay Genie provides a sensitive tool for stress-response and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis research. Dysregulation of CRH has been implicated in anxiety, depression, and stress-related conditions, making this a valuable biomarker for mouse model investigations of those disorders.

The assay is coated with antigen and uses a colorimetric detection method. It accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported sensitivity is 0.188 ng/mL with a measuring range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Kits should be stored sealed at 2-8°C and not cryopreserved. The associated UniProt identifier is Q8CIT0, with reported synonyms including CRF, Corticoliberin, Corticotropin-releasing factor, and Corticotropin-releasing hormone.

Linearity across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions was 87-96% to 85-105% for serum (n=10), 87-100% to 85-96% for EDTA plasma, and 82-98% to 80-100% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranged from 86-99% (average 93%) for serum, 87-100% (average 95%) for EDTA plasma, and 88-103% (average 95%) for heparin plasma. Absorbance is read at 450 nm following TMB substrate development and stop solution addition.
