Quantitative measurement of muscle-type creatine kinase (CKM, also called CK-MM) in mouse research samples is supported by this ELISA Kit from Assay Genie, which delivers an absorbance-based readout in a 96-assay microplate format. CKM is one of three creatine kinase isoforms and is highly expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscle, where it catalyzes the reversible transfer of a phosphate group between creatine and ATP to support cellular energy homeostasis.
Researchers apply this kit to studies of muscle membrane integrity, exercise-induced muscle damage, rhabdomyolysis models, muscular dystrophy research, and pre-clinical cardiac biomarker evaluation. Because CKM is released into circulation when muscle cells are damaged, quantitative readout from serum-based samples, plasma samples, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, or cell culture supernatant fractions provides a sensitive indicator across both in vivo and in vitro experimental systems. The assay also pairs well with western blot confirmation, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry follow-up studies for orthogonal validation.
Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standards, detection reagents, dilution buffer, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution, giving researchers a complete reagent set for running standard curves and unknown samples in the same plate. Standard absorbance readout on a microplate reader keeps the workflow compatible with typical immunology and physiology lab instrumentation. Reconstituted standards and samples should be handled per the included protocol to preserve reproducibility across runs.
Unopened kit components should be stored refrigerated until the expiration date printed on the vial labels, and all reagents should be equilibrated to room temperature before the assay begins. Intended for research use only, this kit fits academic, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology laboratories investigating muscle biology, exercise physiology, neuromuscular disease modeling, or drug-safety screening in murine models. Assay Genie produces this kit as part of its broader portfolio of mouse-targeted ELISA reagents, with technical support available for protocol optimization.
