Crhr2 is a G-protein coupled receptor for CRH (corticotropin-releasing factor), UCN (urocortin), UCN2 and UCN3, with high affinity for UCN. Ligand binding triggers signalling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and downstream effectors such as adenylate cyclase, leading to increased intracellular cAMP levels. The receptor functions as a monomer and is located at the cell membrane as a multi-pass membrane protein.

The assay has a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.161ng/mL. It is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 2.
