Description

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of Copper-transporting ATPase 1 (ATP7A) in mouse-derived samples, employing a colorimetric detection method. The assay is intended for research use only and is suited to studies in neurosciences, as well as investigations of copper homeostasis, given ATP7A's role in intracellular copper transport and its association with conditions such as Menkes disease and Wilson disease.

The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is reactive specifically with mouse samples. It detects natural and recombinant mouse Copper-transporting ATPase 1 (also referred to as Copper pump 1 and Menkes disease-associated protein homolog), with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.065ng/mL. Reported linearity data for serum (N=5) spans 110-120% to 93-105% across dilutions 1:2 to 1:16, with EDTA plasma (N=5) at 100-110% to 85-95% and heparin plasma (N=5) at 83-93% to 85-94%.

ATP7A (UniProt Q64430) is a multi-pass membrane protein that cycles constitutively between the trans-Golgi network and the plasma membrane, supplying copper to copper-requiring proteins within the secretory pathway and functioning in copper efflux from cells when extracellular copper is elevated. Reagents should be stored as indicated on the component labels.
