Copeptin, the 39-amino-acid C-terminal glycopeptide of the pro-arginine vasopressin (pro-AVP) precursor, is secreted in equimolar amounts with vasopressin (AVP) from the posterior pituitary. Because circulating AVP is unstable and largely platelet-bound, copeptin serves as a stable surrogate marker in cardiovascular, endocrine, and renal research, where it is widely used to investigate acute myocardial infarction prognosis, chronic heart failure severity, diabetes insipidus subtypes, polyuria-polydipsia syndromes, septic shock outcomes, and osmotic stress responses.

The Mouse Copeptin PharmaGenie ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a competitive immunoassay built for quantitative measurement of copeptin in murine samples. This mouse-specific assay supports longitudinal and cross-sectional study designs in cardiovascular disease models, AVP pathway investigations, stress hormone dynamics, and blood pressure regulation studies. Endocrine and renal researchers employ the kit to differentiate central from nephrogenic diabetes insipidus and to track the AVP axis under physiological and pharmacological challenges.

Intended for in vitro research use only, the assay accommodates three mouse sample matrices: cell culture supernatant, plasma, and serum, supporting experimental designs from in vivo challenge studies to cell-based vasopressin signaling work. Each kit contains reagents for 96 individual determinations in a competitive ELISA format with an absorbance-based readout, optimized for standard microplate readers. Where direct AVP measurement would be impractical, scientists can apply this kit to reliably quantify circulating copeptin across diverse mouse model systems.
