Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody, colorimetric format for the quantitative measurement of complement factor D (also known as CFD, ADN, Adipsin, DF, PFD, Factor D, or Properdin Factor D Esterase) in mouse samples. The kit is intended for immunology research, where complement factor D serves as a key component of the alternative pathway of the complement system, contributing to immune responses and inflammatory processes. Dysregulation of complement factor D has been implicated in autoimmune and infectious diseases, making its detection valuable for studying disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutic interventions.

The assay has a sensitivity of 28.125 pg/mL and a working range of 46.875-3000 pg/mL. It is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported linearity (n=5) across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions spans 91-104% for serum, 86-99% for EDTA plasma, and 82-95% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages are 93% for serum, 100% for EDTA plasma, and 93% for heparin plasma, with ranges of 85-100%, 98-104%, and 86-103% respectively.

The procedure involves reagent and plate preparation, a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after adding stop solution. Kits are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. Sample preparation guidance covers serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell culture supernatant, and cell lysate, and the kit includes a pre-coated dismountable microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled antibody, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, dilution and wash buffers, stop solution, plate sealer, and a technical manual.
