Description
From Assay Genie, this colorimetric Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative measurement of Mouse Collagen alpha-1 (VII) chain (Col7a1), also referred to as long-chain collagen or LC collagen. The assay detects natural and recombinant mouse Col7a1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.186ng/mL. Reactivity is specific to mouse samples.
Col7a1 is the alpha chain of type VII collagen, an extracellular basement membrane protein restricted to the zone beneath stratified squamous epithelia. It forms anchoring fibrils that contribute to epithelial basement membrane organization and adherence by interacting with extracellular matrix proteins such as type IV collagen. The protein functions as a homotrimer and interacts with MIA3/TANGO1, which facilitates its loading into transport carriers and subsequent secretion. Dysregulation of COL7A1 has been implicated in dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, genetic skin disorders, and certain types of cancer, making accurate quantification valuable for disease research and therapeutic development in mouse models. Reported molecular weight is 295,232 Da (UniProt Q63870; NCBI Gene ID 12836). The research area listed is Signal Transduction.
For research use only. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery values are provided with the kit.
