Mouse Collagen alpha-1 (III)chain (Col3a1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit developed for the quantitative measurement of Collagen alpha-1(III) chain (Col3a1) in mouse samples, with reactivity specific to mouse. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15.85pg/mL. Precision is reported with an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 82-92%, 83-95%, 107-116% and 104-113% across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 respectively. EDTA plasma yields 90-102%, 105-117%, 90-103% and 84-95%, while heparin plasma yields 112-122%, 95-106%, 102-112% and 88-98%. Recovery averages 87% for serum (range 81-93%) and 89% for plasma (range 83-95%).

Col3a1 is a critical component of collagen found in most soft connective tissues alongside type I collagen, and is involved in the regulation of cortical development. Abnormalities in its expression have been linked to fibrosis, arthritis and vascular diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for research. The kit recognises natural and recombinant mouse Collagen alpha-1(III) chain, corresponding to UniProt entry P08121, and is supplied for research use only within the Signal Transduction research area.
