Description

The Assay Genie sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantification of mouse Cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (Cirbp) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses an ELISA detection method and is reactive with mouse samples.

CIRBP is a cold-inducible mRNA binding protein that plays a protective role in the genotoxic stress response by stabilizing transcripts of genes involved in cell survival. It promotes assembly of stress granules (SGs) when overexpressed, plays an essential role in cold-induced suppression of cell proliferation, and acts as both a translational repressor and translational activator. It binds specifically to the 3'-untranslated regions (3'-UTRs) of stress-responsive transcripts RPA2 and TXN. The protein is involved in the response to cold stress, regulates gene expression and cell survival under low temperature conditions, and is implicated in physiological processes including inflammation, metabolism, and circadian rhythm regulation. The protein interacts with EIF4G1 and associates with ribosomes.

The kit has a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.08ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 8.2% and inter-assay CV is 9.8%. The kit detects natural and recombinant mouse Cold-inducible RNA-binding protein. Research area is Epigenetics, with UniProt ID P60824. The protein has a molecular weight of 18,607 Da and is found in the nucleus, nucleoplasm, and cytoplasm, where it translocates from the nucleus to the cytoplasm after exposure to UV radiation and into stress granules upon various cytoplasmic stresses such as osmotic and heat shocks. For research use only.
