Mouse COL2/Collagen II ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of collagen II in mouse samples. The kit is reactive with mouse and is suitable for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Collagen II is described as a key component of cartilage that is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of joints, and changes in its levels have been linked to joint disorders such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, making this kit relevant for research into cartilage health and joint disease in mouse models.

Linearity was determined in serum (88-97% at 1:2, 83-95% at 1:4, 83-98% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (86-97% at 1:2, 82-100% at 1:4, 80-92% at 1:8), and heparin plasma (90-100% at 1:2, 82-93% at 1:4, 86-96% at 1:8). Recovery ranged from 86-105% (average 94%) in serum, 85-103% (average 92%) in EDTA plasma, and 93-102% (average 97%) in heparin plasma. The kit is intended for storage at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The assay is a sandwich ELISA using a biotinylated detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin conjugate with a TMB substrate, and absorbance is read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.
