Mouse Cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript protein (Cartpt) ELISA Kit

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with mouse samples, accepting serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids.

According to the manufacturer, the kit has a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Cartpt (UniProt P56388). Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit. The target protein is described as a satiety factor closely associated with the actions of leptin and neuropeptide Y; this anorectic peptide inhibits both normal and starvation-induced feeding and completely blocks the feeding response induced by neuropeptide Y and regulated by leptin in the hypothalamus.
