Quantitative peptide immunoassay from Assay Genie built to measure endogenous CART peptide (the translated product of the Cocaine- and Amphetamine-Regulated Transcript, CARTPT) in mouse-derived research samples. CART peptides are neuropeptides implicated in appetite suppression, reward circuitry, stress-axis signaling, and energy homeostasis, making quantitative measurement of this peptide valuable for studies in metabolic disease, addiction, and behavioral neuroscience using rodent models.

The procedure accepts tissue homogenates and cell lysates as input material. Brain regions commonly dissected for CART measurement include hypothalamus, nucleus accumbens, and ventral tegmental area, while peripheral tissues such as adrenal gland and pancreatic islets also express the transcript. Cultured neuronal or neuroendocrine cell lines can be processed into lysates for in vitro quantification. Each kit supplies reagents for 96 individual assays, sufficient to evaluate multiple experimental conditions, time points, or treatment groups in parallel.

Detection relies on a colorimetric method read on a standard plate reader, and the workflow follows conventional ELISA plate-handling steps. Reagents supplied typically include a peptide standard, detection antibody, wash and dilution buffers, substrate solution, and stop solution. Researchers studying fasting-refeeding paradigms, psychostimulant exposure, or genetic knockout of CARTPT will find it useful for quantitative comparison across treatment cohorts.

For research use only. Detailed protocol, recommended sample preparation guidance, and performance notes are included in the product insert.
