Mouse Clara Cell Protein 16 (CC16), also known as Club Cell Secretory Protein (CCSP) or CC10, is a homodimeric secretoglobin of approximately 16 kDa secreted by club (Clara) cells lining the distal bronchiolar epithelium. Circulating CC16 concentrations function as a sensitive non-invasive biomarker of airway epithelial barrier integrity in murine models of cigarette-smoke exposure, ozone inhalation, particulate-matter challenge, bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis, LPS-driven acute lung injury, and occupational pneumotoxicity studies.

This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is calibrated for mouse specimens and accommodates a diverse specimen matrix including circulating blood fractions, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, and conditioned cell culture supernatant. Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, concentrated wash buffer, chromogenic substrate, and stop reagent, all supplied in single-use vials suitable for aliquoting.

Reconstituted standards and detection antibody should be stored frozen in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity, while unopened kit components remain stable when refrigerated. The assay is intended for research use only and is not validated for clinical diagnostic procedures.
