The Mouse CHOP ELISA Kit from Assay Genie quantitatively detects endogenous CHOP (C/EBP Homologous Protein), also known as GADD153 or DDIT3, a transcription factor of approximately 19 kDa that acts as a primary effector of the unfolded protein response (UPR) and endoplasmic reticulum stress signaling. This assay supports research into ER stress-induced apoptosis, beta-cell loss in diabetes models, neurodegeneration, hepatic lipotoxicity, and ischemia-reperfusion injury. The microplate is pre-coated with a monoclonal anti-CHOP capture antibody and uses a biotinylated secondary antibody with streptavidin-HRP for signal development. The protocol uses 100 uL of sample per well (serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, or cell lysate), and the standard curve is generated from recombinant mouse CHOP protein, confirming mouse-species specificity with no significant cross-reactivity to rat or human CHOP under standard conditions.
