Mouse Choline O-acetyltransferase/Chat ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Choline O-acetyltransferase (ChAT) in mouse samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. ChAT is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, playing a vital role in neuronal signalling and cognitive function. Dysregulation of ChAT has been implicated in neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and schizophrenia, supporting its use as a biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring therapeutic interventions.

The double-antibody sandwich format uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody with HRP-Streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Reported sensitivity is 0.469 ng/mL and the detection range is 0.781–50 ng/mL. Linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions for serum (90–101%, 86–100%, 91–102%), EDTA plasma (84–100%, 86–101%, 85–101%) and heparin plasma (82–100%, 83–97%, 87–92%). Recovery ranges fall between 85–104% across these matrices, with average recoveries of 98% (serum), 94% (EDTA plasma) and 96% (heparin plasma). The kit is associated with Uniprot Q03059 and should be stored at 2–8°C, where it remains stable for 12 months.
