CYP7A1 is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that serves as a critical regulatory enzyme of bile acid biosynthesis and cholesterol homeostasis, catalysing the hydroxylation of cholesterol at the 7-alpha position as a rate-limiting step in cholesterol catabolism. Dysregulation of CYP7A1 has been implicated in metabolic disorders such as dyslipidemia and cholesterol gallstone disease, making accurate measurement of this target valuable for cholesterol metabolism research. The assay detects natural and recombinant mouse Cytochrome P450 7A1 across a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.159ng/mL.
