Mouse Chitinase-3-like protein 3 (Chi3l3) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative detection of mouse Chitinase-3-like protein 3 (Chi3l3), also known as Ym1, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses colorimetric detection and has been validated for high sensitivity and specificity in mouse samples.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 40.8 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 6.8% and inter-assay CV at 9.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, while recovery averages 94% in serum and 96% in plasma. The kit detects natural and recombinant mouse Chi3l3, which is a secreted protein.

Chi3l3 functions as a lectin that binds saccharides with a free amino group, including glucosamine and galactosamine, as well as chitin and heparin. Although it lacks chitinase activity, it exhibits chemotactic activity towards T-lymphocytes, bone marrow cells and eosinophils, and is implicated in inflammation and allergy. Elevated levels have been associated with conditions such as asthma, arthritis and cancer, making the kit a useful tool for research into immune regulation and inflammatory processes.
