Mouse Chitinase-3-like protein 1 (Chi3l1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of mouse Chitinase-3-like protein 1 (Chi3L1, also known as YKL-40, BRP39 and CGP-39) in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants using a colorimetric detection method. Chi3L1 is a glycoprotein implicated in inflammation, tissue remodeling and cell proliferation, with elevated levels associated with inflammatory conditions, cancer and other diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these pathologies and evaluating potential diagnostic or prognostic applications.

The assay delivers a sensitivity of 0.08ng/mL across a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, with intra-assay precision of 6.5% CV and inter-assay precision of 8.2% CV. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Serum recovery averages 94% (range 88-100%) and plasma recovery averages 96% (range 90-102%). The kit recognizes natural and recombinant mouse Chitinase-3-like protein 1 (Uniprot Q61362) and is intended for research use only.

Chi3L1 functions as a carbohydrate-binding lectin with a preference for chitin but no chitinase activity, with roles in tissue remodeling, Th2 inflammatory responses, IL-13-induced inflammation, and antibacterial responses in the lung. The protein is secreted and has been detected in bronchoalveolar lavage fluids, with research applications including signal transduction.
