Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of mouse CD40 ligand (Cd40lg), also known by synonyms including T-cell antigen Gp39, TNF-related activation protein, tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 5 (TRAP), CD154, CD40-L and Tnfsf5. It is intended for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse CD40 ligand.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39pg/mL. Intra CV is 8.3% and inter CV is 10.1%. Recovery in serum averages 92% (range 86-98%) and in plasma averages 94% (range 88-100%). Linearity data for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5) is reported. The protein exists as a homotrimer that interacts with CD28 (UniProt P27548, NCBI Gene ID: 21947) with a molecular weight of 29,370 Da. The kit is for research use only.

Reagents are stored at -20°C (microplate, lyophilized standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B) or 4°C (wash buffer, substrate, stop solution). CD40 ligand plays a central role in immune cell activation and B-cell proliferation, and the release of soluble CD40L from platelets is reportedly partially regulated by GP IIb/IIIa, actin polymerization and a matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) inhibitor-sensitive pathway.
