CD40, also referred to as B-cell surface antigen CD40 or TNFRSF5, is a 48 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It is expressed primarily on B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages, and other antigen-presenting cells, where it drives B-cell activation, immunoglobulin class switching, germinal center formation, and T-cell co-stimulation through binding of its ligand CD154 (CD40L).

This quantitative immunoassay kit from Assay Genie is purpose-built for measuring mouse CD40 concentrations in serum, EDTA plasma, or heparin plasma specimens collected from laboratory animal models. Researchers commonly deploy the kit in autoimmune disease research such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, transplant immunology, vaccine response studies, and tumor microenvironment investigations where B-cell costimulatory signaling is implicated.

The assay relies on a solid-phase antibody capture approach paired with a biotinylated detection reagent and streptavidin-HRP reporter, generating a signal proportional to CD40 concentration in each specimen. A standard curve prepared from recombinant mouse CD40 protein is supplied for quantitative interpolation of unknown samples. Each kit provides a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standards, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop solution sufficient for one full 96-reaction plate run.

The kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for clinical diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
