CD28 is a T lymphocyte costimulatory receptor that engages B7-family ligands CD80 and CD86 on antigen-presenting cells, delivering the second signal required for full T cell activation, cytokine secretion, and clonal expansion. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is purpose-built to measure mouse CD28 in research specimens, supporting immunology, transplant tolerance, autoimmunity, and vaccine studies where shifts in circulating CD28 levels are tracked across experimental cohorts.

The kit ships as a complete microplate package with pre-coated wells, matched detection antibody, a recombinant standard series, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution, sized for 96 Assays. The workflow follows a standard immunometric procedure: pipette samples and standards into the wells, incubate through the binding and detection steps, generate a measurable chromogenic signal that is read on a standard microplate reader, and quantify the response against the standard curve.

Storage and handling guidance follows standard immunoassay practice: keep sealed components refrigerated between uses, protect light-sensitive reagents from exposure, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody and standard integrity. The assay is validated specifically for mouse samples and is intended for research use only, making it a practical tool for laboratories investigating immune checkpoint biology, T cell anergy, costimulation blockade therapies, and related translational immunology programs.
