CEBPE is a key transcription factor of the bZIP family that regulates gene expression and immune cell development, and it plays a critical role in immune response, inflammation, and hematopoiesis. The protein binds DNA as a dimer and can form stable heterodimers with C/EBP delta, and is localised to the nucleus. C/EBP proteins recognise two different DNA motifs: the CCAAT homology common to many promoters and the enhanced core homology common to many enhancers. The reported molecular weight of the protein is 30,617 Da.

The kit reports a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.23ng/mL. Specificity is for natural and recombinant mouse CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein epsilon, also known by the synonyms C/EBP epsilon and Gm294.
