Mouse Cathepsin D/CTSD ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Cathepsin D (CTSD). The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is intended for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Cathepsin D is a lysosomal aspartyl protease involved in protein degradation and contributes to cellular processes including autophagy, apoptosis, and cell migration; aberrant activity has been linked to cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and cardiovascular disorders.

Reported sensitivity is 18.75 pg/mL with an assay range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL, and the kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions (n = 5) spans 86–101% for serum, 82–101% for EDTA plasma, and 81–100% for heparin plasma. Recovery values (n = 5) range from 93–100% (average 96%) in serum, 92–100% (average 97%) in EDTA plasma, and 86–99% (average 98%) in heparin plasma.

The procedure includes primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution addition.
