Mouse Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform (Cpt1a) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Carnitine O-palmitoyltransferase 1, liver isoform (Cpt1a). The assay shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse CPT1A and is validated for serum and plasma samples, with additional compatibility for tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

With a detection range of 78-5000pg/ml and a sensitivity of 39.2pg/mL, the kit provides reproducible results. Intra-assay CV is reported at 6.3% and inter-assay CV at 8.2%. Recovery averages 100% (range 94-106%) in serum and 102% (range 96-108%) in plasma. The associated UniProt entry is P97742.

CPT1A catalyses the transfer of the acyl group of long-chain fatty acid-CoA conjugates onto carnitine, an essential step for mitochondrial uptake of long-chain fatty acids and their subsequent beta-oxidation. The protein localises to the mitochondrion outer membrane and plays an important role in triglyceride metabolism. Dysregulation of CPT1A has been implicated in metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes and fatty liver disease, placing it in the cardiovascular research area. For research use only.
