Mouse Cardiotrophin-1 (Ctf1) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Cardiotrophin-1 (CTF1), also known as CT-1, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other related biological fluids. CTF1 is a member of the IL-6 superfamily of cytokines that promotes cardiac growth and development and regulates cardiac function and repair. The protein has been described as inducing cardiac myocyte hypertrophy in vitro by binding to and activating the ILST/gp130 receptor, and dysregulation of CTF1 has been linked to various cardiovascular conditions, making it a valuable biomarker for cardiac research.

The assay uses microplate wells pre-coated with antibodies specific to mouse Cardiotrophin-1, combined with a biotinylated detection antibody and an Avidin-HRP conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is terminated with a sulphuric acid stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm ± 2 nm. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2–2000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 15.7 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant mouse Cardiotrophin-1.
