Mouse Calumenin (Calu) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of mouse Calumenin (Calu), also known by the synonym Crocalbin. The assay is intended for research use only and measures natural and recombinant mouse Calumenin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Calumenin is a calcium-binding protein implicated in calcium homeostasis and protein folding. It acts in the regulation of vitamin K-dependent carboxylation of multiple N-terminal glutamate residues and appears to inhibit gamma-carboxylase GGCX. The protein binds 7 calcium ions with a low affinity and has been mapped to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, the Golgi apparatus, melanosome and sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, and is also secreted. Dysregulation of calumenin has been associated with cancer, cardiovascular disorders and neurodegenerative conditions, making it a relevant biomarker for cardiovascular research.

Quantitative performance is characterised by a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156ng/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery data are provided with the kit. Optical density is read at 450 nm on a microplate reader.
