Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of calreticulin (CALR) in mouse samples, with reactivity against mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse calreticulin and is supplied in a Solid Phase format with reagents stored at -20°C (selected components at 4°C), shipped at +4°C.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39.28 pg/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.6% and an inter-assay CV of 9.4%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 101-113% at 1:2, 102-110% at 1:4, 101-110% at 1:8 and 96-106% at 1:16; EDTA plasma (N=5) gives 101-111%, 102-111%, 96-105% and 101-114% across the same dilutions; heparin plasma (N=5) gives 92-92%, 94-104%, 94-103% and 112-120%. Recovery averages 114% (range 108-120%) in serum and 116% (range 110-120%) in plasma.

Calreticulin is a calcium-binding chaperone that promotes folding, oligomeric assembly and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum via the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. It localises to the ER lumen, cytoplasmic granules and sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen. The protein (UniProt P14211, 47,995 Da; NCBI Gene ID 12317) is also known by the synonyms CRP55, Calregulin, Endoplasmic reticulum resident protein 60, ERp60 and HACBP. Research area: Epigenetics.
