Mouse Cadherin-5 (Cdh5) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the sensitive and accurate detection of mouse Cadherin-5 (Cdh5), also referred to as vascular endothelial cadherin, VE-cadherin, and CD144. The assay is reactive with mouse samples, accepting serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Cadherin-5.

Performance figures quoted for the kit include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.16ng/mL. Cadherin-5 is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion glycoprotein that preferentially interacts with itself in a homophilic manner, contributing to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types, the cohesion of intercellular junctions, and the organisation of endothelial cell biology. It acts in concert with KRIT1 to establish and maintain endothelial cell polarity and vascular lumen integrity, effects mediated through the Par polarity complex and RAP1B. The protein is required for activation of PRKCZ and the localisation of phosphorylated PRKCZ, PARD3, TIAM1 and RAP1B to the cell junction, and is encoded by the Cdh5 gene (UniProt P55284).

Dysregulation of Cadherin-5 has been linked to cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis and hypertension, as well as to tumour progression and metastasis in cancer.
