The BRD4 bromodomain protein sits at the centre of transcriptional elongation machinery, reading acetylated lysine marks on histones and recruiting the positive transcription elongation factor P-TEFb. Mouse models of this pathway are central to preclinical oncology research, particularly in acute myeloid leukemia, multiple myeloma, and prostate cancer where BET-family inhibition by compounds such as JQ1 is under active investigation. This Assay Genie kit provides a quantitative readout of endogenous BRD4 levels in murine specimens, supporting target-validation, pharmacodynamic, and resistance-mechanism studies in vivo.

Supplied as a 96-assay kit in microplate format with pre-coated wells, the reagents support absorbance-based detection on standard plate readers. The assay is intended for research use only and accepts a range of mouse-derived sample preparations, including tissue lysates and liquid specimens collected from xenograft, syngeneic, or genetically engineered mouse strains. Reagents are shipped in individual vials and should be stored refrigerated upon receipt; aliquoting of working solutions is recommended to minimise repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade the analyte.

Beyond oncology, BRD4 plays documented roles in inflammatory gene programmes and in the transcriptional regulation of certain viruses, including HIV and members of the herpesvirus family, broadening the kit's utility into immunology and infectious-disease workflows. Each kit ships with a standard for curve generation, diluent buffers, and a detailed protocol outlining in vitro specimen handling, recommended concentration ranges, and curve-fitting guidance for downstream plate-reader software.
