Mouse Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (Bdnf) ELISA Kit

BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) is a critical neurotrophin that supports neuronal survival, differentiation, axonal growth and synaptic plasticity, and is implicated in mood, memory and learning. This Assay Genie sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the detection of mouse BDNF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay is reactive with mouse samples, with a detection range of 0.156-10ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.08ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.8% and an inter-assay CV of 7.2%. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant mouse BDNF, and validation in serum and plasma across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions returned average recoveries of 93% (range 87-99%) for serum and 95% (range 89-101%) for plasma.

BDNF is a secreted protein that functions as monomers and homodimers and binds NTRK2/TRKB. It belongs to the NGF-beta family (UniProt P21237) and the kit is intended for research use only within the neurosciences research area.
