The Mouse Bradykinin PharmaGenie ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is built on a competitive immunoassay principle, the standard approach for quantifying short peptide analytes such as bradykinin, a 9-amino acid kinin generated by kallikrein cleavage of kininogen. Because bradykinin is too small to be sandwiched between a capture and detection antibody, the assay uses a labeled bradykinin conjugate that competes with endogenous peptide in the sample for binding to an anti-bradykinin antibody pre-coated on the plate, producing an inverse absorbance signal relative to analyte concentration. The kit is validated for mouse-derived samples, including cell culture supernatants, plasma, and serum, supporting research into the kallikrein-kinin system in murine models of inflammation, vascular biology, ACE inhibitor pharmacology, hereditary angioedema, and pain pathways.
