Bone Sialoprotein (BSP), also called Integrin-Binding Sialoprotein (IBSP), is a phosphorylated glycoprotein of the SIBLING family that nucleates hydroxyapatite formation in mineralizing bone matrix. The Mouse Bone Sialoprotein (BSP) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a quantitative microplate immunoassay for measuring BSP in mouse research specimens.

Researchers apply this 96-assay kit to studies of bone formation, remodeling, and turnover, including mouse models of osteoporosis, fracture repair, periodontal disease, and metastatic bone disease. BSP is also investigated as a circulating biomarker in cancers that involve skeletal lesions, where elevated levels can track disease activity and treatment response in vivo.

Each kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, detection antibody, calibrated standard vials, and the buffers needed to complete the full protocol within a standard working day. Plates are read on a standard absorbance microplate reader, and the protocol accommodates serum or plasma, tissue homogenate, and other sample types relevant to musculoskeletal and cancer research.

For handling, unopened components should be refrigerated as directed by the product insert, and reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted and stored frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Reconstituted working standards remain stable for short-term refrigerated use during an active run. The kit is supplied for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or clinical applications.
