Mouse Bone morphogenetic protein 1 (Bmp1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie intended for the quantitative measurement of mouse Bone morphogenetic protein 1 (BMP1), also known by synonyms including Mammalian tolloid protein, Procollagen C-proteinase, mTld, and PCP. The assay is reported to operate over a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL with a stated sensitivity of 0.08ng/mL, and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is described for natural and recombinant mouse BMP1.

BMP1 plays a critical role in skeletal development, wound healing, and tissue repair. It is a metalloproteinase that cleaves the C-terminal propeptides of procollagen I, II and III and induces cartilage and bone formation, and it is also responsible for the proteolytic activation of lysyl oxidase LOX. The protein is localised to the Golgi apparatus and trans-Golgi network and is secreted to the extracellular space and matrix, where it interacts with POSTN to promote deposition on the extracellular matrix.
