Description

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mouse Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7 (BMP7) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit uses a double-antibody format and is read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development, with absorbance recorded immediately following stop solution addition.

BMP7, also referred to as BMP-7, OP1, or Osteogenic Protein-1, is a key signaling molecule involved in bone formation, cartilage development, and kidney function. Its dysregulation has been linked to osteoporosis, kidney disorders, and skeletal deformities, supporting its use as a biomarker in related research. The kit reports a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 93-100%, 84-94% and 89-99% for serum (n=5); 89-103%, 85-96% and 81-96% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 86-103%, 82-91% and 81-97% for heparin plasma (n=5). Spike-and-recovery averages are 96% for serum, 92% for EDTA plasma and 95% for heparin plasma. Unopened components are stored at 2-8°C and the kit remains stable for 12 months under these conditions.

The assay workflow begins with reagent and plate equilibration to room temperature, followed by a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C. Biotinylated detection antibody is then applied for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate is added for 10-20 minutes in the dark before the stop reaction and absorbance reading. Sample preparation guidance is provided for serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell culture supernatant and cell lysate.
