The Assay Genie Mouse BMP-4 ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 in mouse serum, plasma, and other biological fluids using a sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection. BMP-4 is a member of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily and plays key roles in embryonic development, osteoblast differentiation, neurogenesis, and stem cell fate determination, making accurate quantification valuable for developmental biology, bone regeneration, and stem cell research studies.

Each kit is supplied as a 96-well microplate configured for 96 assays and is intended for research use only. The assay follows a standard sandwich ELISA workflow in which a capture antibody immobilized on the plate binds BMP-4 from the sample, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody and streptavidin-HRP conjugate. The colorimetric signal is read at 450 nm after stop solution addition, and standard curves are typically generated using a recombinant mouse BMP-4 calibrator supplied with the kit.

For optimal performance, store the kit at 2–8 °C and avoid freeze-thaw cycles of the lyophilized components. Reconstituted standards and working solutions should be aliquoted and stored frozen at –20 °C or below. Samples should be handled using standard laboratory precautions, and hemolyzed or lipemic specimens should be avoided where possible to minimize assay interference. The protocol typically requires only small sample volumes (around 100 ul per well), making it economical for studies with limited mouse samples.
