Mouse Biglycan (Bgn) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse biglycan (Bgn) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and recognises both natural and recombinant mouse biglycan; reported synonyms include Bone/cartilage proteoglycan I and PG-S1.

Manufacturer-quoted performance specifications include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 39.8pg/mL. Intra-assay and inter-assay CV are both listed at 0.0%. Linearity has been tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across serum (N=5) with ranges of 104-114%, 90-103%, 107-117% and 110-120% respectively; corresponding EDTA plasma values are 88-98%, 91-101%, 100-109% and 102-114%, and heparin plasma values are 103-111%, 109-117%, 106-116% and 106-116%. Average recovery in both serum and plasma is reported as 80% (range 80-80%).

Biglycan is described as a small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycan (UniProt P28653, molecular weight 41,639 Da) associated with collagen fibril assembly, bone mineralisation and connective tissue metabolism, secreted into the extracellular space and matrix.
