JMJD6 is a multifunctional nuclear enzyme reported to act as both a histone arginine demethylase and a lysyl-hydroxylase, with roles in RNA splicing, gene expression regulation, and protein translation. It is described as a dioxygenase that catalyzes 5-hydroxylation on specific lysine residues of target proteins such as U2AF2/U2AF65 and LUC7L2, and demethylates histone H3 at 'Arg-2' (H3R2me) and histone H4 at 'Arg-3' (H4R3me). The protein has been implicated in differentiation of multiple organs during embryogenesis, hematopoietic differentiation, and macrophage cytokine responses, with research interest in its connection to cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit has a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.399ng/mL. It is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse JMJD6 (Uniprot Q9ERI5).
