Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich-ELISA kit enables quantitative detection of mouse beta-hexosaminidase A in serum, plasma and other biological fluids, with a required sample volume of 100 μL. The Mouse beta-Hex A (beta-hexosaminidase A) ELISA Kit uses a colorimetric detection method and follows the Sandwich-ELISA principle, in which samples bind to antibody-coated microplate wells, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody and an Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate, with absorbance read at 450 nm ± 2 nm. The total assay time is 3 h 30 min.

According to the manufacturer data, the kit has a sensitivity of 0.19 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.31-20 ng/mL, with a recovery of 80%-120%. It specifically recognises Mouse β-Hex A, with no significant cross-reactivity or interference observed between Mouse β-Hex A and analogues. Reported recovery in EDTA plasma (n=8) ranged from 93-105% with an average of 99%, and in cell culture media (n=8) recovery ranged from 89-104% with an average of 96%. Precision data show intra-assay CV values of 5.01%, 4.19% and 6.88%, and inter-assay CV values of 6.21%, 7.92% and 8.83%. The kit is intended for the neuroscience research area, with components stored at 2-8°C (select reagents stored at -20°C as detailed in the kit insert).

Beta-hexosaminidase A is a lysosomal enzyme involved in the breakdown of glycosphingolipids, and its dysregulation has been linked to lysosomal storage disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and potential therapeutic targets.
