Mouse Beclin-1 (Becn1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mouse Beclin-1 (BECN1), also known as coiled-coil myosin-like BCL2-interacting protein. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is designed for use with mouse samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant mouse Beclin-1.

Quantitative performance is reported as a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.3% and an inter-assay CV of 8.2%. In spike-and-recovery testing, serum showed an average recovery of 99% (range 93-105%) and plasma showed an average recovery of 101% (range 95-107%).

Beclin-1 is described as a key regulator of autophagy, a cellular process essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and eliminating damaged organelles and proteins, with dysregulation implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and infectious diseases. The 35 kDa mitochondrial isoform can promote apoptosis by inducing the mitochondrial translocation of BAX and the release of proapoptotic factors. For research use only.
