Mouse BDNF ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA, double antibody kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative colorimetric measurement of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) in mouse serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Listed synonyms include ANON2, BULN2, Abrineurin, and neurotrophin (UniProt P21237).

Manufacturer specifications state a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and an assay range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Recovery across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5) was 85–104% with averages of 95–98%, and linearity was 81–103% across serial dilutions. Reported precision is CV<8% intra-assay and CV<10% inter-assay. The assay uses a biotin-labeled detection antibody with HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

BDNF is a neurotrophic factor that supports neuronal survival, axonal growth, and synaptic plasticity, and has been implicated in learning, memory, and cognitive function. Its dysregulation has been linked to depression, Alzheimer's disease, and schizophrenia. Kit components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months, and the product is for research use only.
