Mouse Bace1/Beta-secretase 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse BACE1 (Beta-secretase 1) levels in research samples. BACE1 is a key enzyme involved in the production of amyloid beta peptides, which are associated with the onset and progression of Alzheimer's disease, making the kit an invaluable tool for studying the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders and exploring potential therapeutic targets.

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and other liquid samples. Reported linearity for serum (n = 5) is 88-98% (1:2), 85-96% (1:4) and 88-95% (1:8); for EDTA plasma (n = 5) 86-99% (1:2), 85-100% (1:4) and 82-95% (1:8); and for heparin plasma (n = 5) 84-100% (1:2), 89-100% (1:4) and 81-99% (1:8). Average recovery is 95% for serum, 94% for EDTA plasma and 98% for heparin plasma.

Reagents should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. The protocol involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotin-labelled detection antibody step, 30 minutes of HRP-Streptavidin binding, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution is added.
