Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the measurement of mouse B-cell linker protein (Blnk). The kit is reactive with mouse samples and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is stated for natural and recombinant mouse B-cell linker protein, with detection carried out using a colorimetric method and read at 450 nm on a micro-plate reader.

The manufacturer reports a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.08 ng/mL. Blnk, also referred to as SLP-65, is a cytoplasmic adapter protein found in the cytoplasm and at the cell membrane, with BCR activation resulting in its translocation to the membrane fraction. It functions as a central linker protein downstream of the B-cell receptor, bridging SYK kinase to multiple signaling pathways and regulating biological outcomes of B-cell function and development. The protein participates in the activation of ERK/EPHB2, MAP kinase p38 and JNK, modulates AP1 activation, and is important for the activation of NF-kappa-B and NFAT. It also plays a role in BCR-mediated PLCG1 and PLCG2 activation and Ca(2+) mobilization, and is required for trafficking of the BCR to late endosomes. The associated UniProt accession is Q9QUN3 and NCBI Gene ID 17060.
