Mouse ATPase, Cu++ Transporting Beta Polypeptide (ATP7b) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's ATP7b (ATPase, Cu++ transporting beta polypeptide) ELISA kit delivers quantitative measurement of mouse ATP7b protein in tissue homogenates and cell lysates for laboratory research. ATP7b is a copper-transporting P-type ATPase that loads copper onto ceruloplasmin in the secretory pathway and excretes excess copper into bile. Loss-of-function mutations cause Wilson's disease, and the kit is widely used to study hepatic copper accumulation in mouse models such as the toxic milk (tx-j) strain, which carries a G712D missense change, and full Atp7b knockout lines that recapitulate hepatic copper overload.

Beyond liver-focused copper research, the assay is also applied to studies of ATP7b expression in kidney, brain, and placenta, where the transporter contributes to renal copper handling and neuronal metal homeostasis. It complements downstream readouts such as immunohistochemistry, western blot, and PCR-based transcript analysis in mechanistic studies of copper dysregulation. The kit is supplied in a microplate format with pre-coated wells, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP, and substrate solution, sufficient for 96 assays per pack.
