Description

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative detection of mouse cytoplasmic aspartate aminotransferase, also known as glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase 1 (GOT1). The assay is designed for research applications investigating the role of GOT1 in amino acid metabolism, cellular energy production, and associated physiological and pathological processes, including studies of liver, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders.

Validated for use with mouse serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, the kit specifically recognizes natural and recombinant mouse cytoplasmic aspartate aminotransferase. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56–100 U/L and a sensitivity of 0.88 U/L, with intra-assay precision of 6.7% (CV) and inter-assay precision of 11.5% (CV). Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples, and recovery averages of 110% for serum and 112% for plasma have been recorded.

GOT1 is a homodimeric enzyme localized to the cytoplasm (UniProt P05201) and functions in the biosynthesis of L-glutamate from L-aspartate or L-cysteine, regulation of glutamate levels, hepatic glucose synthesis, and adipocyte glyceroneogenesis. The kit is intended for research use only within the field of cell biology.
