Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR), also known as Ah receptor, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. AHR is a ligand-activated transcriptional activator that binds to the XRE promoter region, drives expression of multiple phase I and II xenobiotic-metabolising enzyme genes such as CYP1A1, and mediates the biochemical and toxic effects of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons. The protein is involved in cell-cycle regulation, immune response, and circadian control of the core component PER1, and is implicated in cancer, autoimmune disorders, and metabolic diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and developing potential therapeutics.

The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and shows specificity for natural and recombinant mouse AHR (UniProt P30561). Reported performance figures include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.084 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 7.9%. Linearity in serum (n=5) spans 113-125% at 1:2, 88-98% at 1:4, 100-110% at 1:8 and 91-104% at 1:16; EDTA plasma (n=5) ranges across 95-104%, 104-114%, 99-109% and 93-105% at the same dilutions; heparin plasma (n=5) ranges across 109-119%, 103-111%, 109-118% and 104-113%. Average recovery is 87% (range 81-93%) in serum and 89% (range 83-95%) in plasma. The target is initially cytoplasmic, translocating to the nucleus upon ligand binding. For research use only.
