Mouse Aquaporin-4 (Aqp4) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. AQP4 is a water-selective channel protein predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, and the kit supports research into neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica.

Detection is colorimetric with a sandwich ELISA set-up. The manufacturer reports a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.2% and inter-assay CV is 7.8%. Linearity has been validated across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) in serum (105-126% across dilutions), EDTA plasma (92-123%) and heparin plasma (95-121%). Spike-and-recovery averages are 89% for serum (range 83-95) and 91% for plasma (range 85-97). Specificity is described for natural and recombinant mouse Aquaporin-4.

AQP4 is a multi-pass membrane protein that forms a water-specific channel and functions as an osmoreceptor regulating body water balance and water flow within the central nervous system (UniProt P55088). The kit is supplied for research use only.
